Materiality

By continually reviewing ESG strategies, Ho Bee Land prioritises sustainability for a future-ready stance.

INTRODUCTION

In FY2022, we conducted a materiality refreshment exercise to reevaluate our material ESG factors and ensure that they are aligned with Ho Bee Land’s business goals, market practices, and stakeholders’ expectations. This led to the reporting of four new material topics i.e. emissions, waste, occupational health and safety, and customer health and safety.

Materiality Assessment

A four-step approach—based on the guidelines on GRI Materiality Standards and Principles—was adopted in the materiality assessment. This includes conducting a materiality assessment workshop to identify, prioritise, and validate ESG topics that matter most to our business performance and stakeholders.

01

Identification of material topics through in-depth stakeholder engagement and comprehensive research

02

Prioritisation of topics based on the significance and importance to our stakeholders

03

Validate with Management and Board on the identified material topics

04

Review these material topics and reassess their relevance and significance to the Group
Materiality Matrix

With the four-step approach, we have identified 13 material topics under the five pillars. We continue to align our ESG efforts with 12 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs)
